My year as Miss Central Massachusetts 2015 has been nothing short of amazing. Since pageantry was a somewhat new goal of mine, I wasn’t aware of how much this title was about to shape me as a person. It truly has been an unforgettable reign filled with adventures, surprises, challenges, growth, tears, and smiles. Tonight, I will be closing one chapter in the book of my life, but as for pageantry, I am not done yet. With my title, I have had the opportunity to work with countless heartwarming charities, each one leaving an impact in my life. Since my crowning I have spent hours at BayState Children’s Hospital, I volunteered at both a Cycle Relay for Cystic Fibrosis and Walk Now for Autism Speaks, I walked 5 miles for the Rays of Hope Breast Cancer Walk, attended the Worcester St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and the All You Can Eat Ice Cream Festival in Worcester for Children Friend, posed for the NoH8 campaign in Boston was able to compete on the Miss Massachusetts USA stage
and place in Top 15, and of course filling every other weekend in between with photoshoots and fashion shows. This year was truly magical, and that was just half of it! This life was new to me, but I wanted to take advantage of every opportunity thrown at me because a year, truly does go by in the blink of an eye. Of course this year would not have been possibly without so many amazing people in my life.
Iva: Thank you thank you thank you for blessing me with this incredible
Mom and Dad: You’re amazing; your constant support throughout this whole
process has left me smiling for ear to ear. Both of you always made yourself
available whether it was for a workout or dress fitting scheduled in Rhode Island, an
appearance in Boston or just anytime I needed a healthy meal cooked for me. I love
Sarah and Ryan: This process would have been a lot easier if you ate healthy with
me, just kidding, kind of. You guys were my number 1 supporters and seeing you
both in the crowd every time I was on stage was the reason it was so easy for me to
get up there.
Brad, Cori, Bailey, Lauren, and Little Brad: You guys are my rocks, this literally
would have never happened if it wasn’t for you guys. You gave me the confidence
and courage to get up on that stage and always make me feel like I can conquer the
world. Thank you for your endless support and Cori and Bailey thank you for your
endless supply of pageant knowledge. I love you all.
Lexi: My little sister queen, you are not so little anymore. Watching you grow
throughout this whole process has been such a sight. Having you by my side
preparing for the Miss Massachusetts USA pageant was the reason I was able to
motivate myself so much. We constantly pushed each other to make sure we were
the best version of ourselves and I can’t thank you enough for that. It was through the help of so many people that I was able to live out my year to its fullest. Thank you all for being apart of my journey.
To my successor: Get ready for the greatest year of your life. Work hard, stay humble, and always find the fun in every situation. This year is what you make it and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Although it saddens me to give up this title I am excited to begin the next chapter in
my life and see all that it has in store for me.
Forever and always, Your Miss Central Massachusetts 2016. Jenna Kelley
